When did you start working at Faithful+Gould?

I joined in June 2003.

What is your role and responsibilities?

I work in asset management, life cycle costing and sustainability.

Why did you join Faithful+Gould?

There were three main reasons. When I graduated I was particularly interested in life cycle costing (LCC). In addition the LCC team incorporated a wide range of disciplines which would support the development of my technical skills. Thirdly, Faithful+Gould has one of the highest pass rates for its staff to become a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Do you have any professional accreditations?

MSc (UCL), BSc (Hons.), Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Incorporated Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.

What did you do before you joined Faithful+Gould?

I joined directly after graduating from the University of Westminster with a BSc in Quantity Surveying.

What key projects have you worked on?

ITE College West, Resorts World Sentosa and Sports Hub in Singapore

What are you currently working on?

We’re acting as Lenders Technical Advisor for Resorts World Sentosa, a $6.59 billion project incorporating Universal Studios Singapore, a casino, multiple hotels, dining, shopping and conference facilities. I am also part of a team acting as Lenders Technical Advisor for Sports Hub incorporating a national stadium, aquatic centre, water sports centre and numerous other sporting, retail and dining facilities.

What achievement are you most proud of?

I am proud that the company supported my move to our Singapore office from London in 2008. I feel it reflected well on the work that I had been involved in and the achievement of my MSc and MRICS.

What’s the most technically challenging project you’ve worked on?

My work in construction monitoring at the Universal Studios Singapore was challenging and interesting as the nature of the site was very specialist. Discussions during site visits about roller coasters, dinosaurs and Egyptian mummies were the norm!

How has your career developed at Faithful+Gould?

Faithful+Gould has been incredibly supportive throughout my career. This has included the day-to-day support of my colleagues in their patience, encouragement and mentoring. Importantly Faithful+Gould supported me through achieving my MRICS and my MSc in Construction Economics and Management which I undertook part time whilst working here.
